Crowns are full coverage restoration used to cover a tooth that is likely to break or is too damaged to be corrected with a traditional filling. A tooth that has been damaged by root canal, grinding, decay or fracture is likely to break from the stress of daily use. When the doctor prescribes a crown , it strengthens your tooth by providing 360 degrees of coverage.

Plaque and tartar that build up around the teeth and below the gumline can set off a cascade of dental problems, including gingivitis, tooth decay, bone loss, bad breath (halitosis), and eventually tooth loss. Routine cleanings remove the harmful bacteria behind these issues, while regular exams let us spot concerns early, before they become bigger problems. Together, they help you enjoy a lifetime of healthy, confident smiles.
-
Dentures are custom-crafted, removable appliances that replace missing teeth and restore your ability to chew, speak, and smile with confidence. Partial dentures replace several missing teeth while preserving your remaining natural ones, and full dentures replace an entire upper or lower arch.
-
Dental implants are small titanium posts placed in the jawbone to replace the roots of missing teeth. Once healed, they support custom crowns that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. At Cedar Dental Studio, we guide you through the entire process, from your initial consultation and evaluation to your final crown, working alongside trusted periodontists and oral surgeons who handle the implant placement.
-
Inlays and onlays are custom-made restorations used to repair teeth with damage that's too extensive for a filling but not severe enough to need a full crown. An inlay fits within the grooves of a tooth's chewing surface, while an onlay extends over one or more of its cusps. Crafted from durable, tooth-colored materials, they blend naturally with your smile and preserve more of your healthy tooth structure than a crown.

Life can be hard, but it shouldn't be hard on your teeth. We make custom-fitted guards to protect your smile in two ways. Night guards cushion your teeth from the wear and damage caused by clenching and grinding, while sports guards shield your teeth, lips, and jaw from injury during contact sports and other activities.
-
If dental visits make you anxious, we offer two ways to help you relax. Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) is given right in the chair, and its effects wear off within minutes after your appointment, so you can drive yourself home. Oral sedation is a prescription anti-anxiety medication you take before your visit. Both options take the edge off while keeping you awake and able to respond throughout your treatment.

Neuromodulators like Botox aren't just for cosmetic use. Botox works by temporarily relaxing targeted muscles so they can't contract as forcefully. For patients with TMJ pain, chronic clenching, or grinding, carefully placed injections in the jaw muscles can ease tension, reduce pain and headaches, and lessen wear on your teeth. Dr. Kavanagh will evaluate your symptoms to see whether Botox is a good fit, either on its own or alongside other treatments like a custom night guard. Results typically last about three to four months.

Oral cancer can affect anyone, and when it's caught early, it's far more treatable. Tobacco use and heavy alcohol use raise your risk, as do HPV infection and frequent sun exposure to the lips. That's why we include a quick, painless oral cancer screening at every routine exam, checking your mouth, tongue, throat, and neck for anything unusual.

From your child's very first visit through their teenage years, we're here to make dental care feel easy for the whole family — not just the grown-ups. Dr. Kavanagh will evaluate each pediatric risk facts pertaining to caries risk, sleep apnea, malocclusion and determine the appropriate tx rf

A dental bridge is a fixed restoration that fills the gap left by one or more missing teeth. It's anchored to the neighboring teeth or to dental implants. Unlike a removable partial denture, a bridge stays securely in place, giving you a stable, natural-feeling way to restore your smile.

Root canal therapy removes infected or inflamed pulp (the soft tissue inside your tooth that contains nerves and blood vessels), then cleans, disinfects, and seals the canals to save your natural tooth from extraction. Despite its reputation, a modern root canal is comfortable, highly effective, and relieves tooth pain rather than causing it.
-
Periodontal disease develops when bacteria and hardened plaque (tartar, or calculus) remain below the gumline over time. The infection causes the gums to pull away from the teeth, forming deep pockets, and gradually breaks down the bone that holds your teeth in place. The first line of treatment is scaling and root planing (SRP), a deep cleaning that removes bacteria and tartar from below the gumline and smooths the root surfaces so the gums can reattach and heal. We numb the area beforehand, so you stay comfortable throughout. Afterward, more frequent maintenance cleanings help keep the disease under control
-
Your temporomandibular joint (TMJ) connects your lower jaw to your skull and plays a key role in everyday movements like talking, chewing, and yawning. When the joint or the muscles around it aren't working properly, often because of jaw misalignment, clenching, or grinding, the result can be jaw pain, headaches, clicking, and difficulty opening your mouth. Dr. Kavanagh will perform a thorough evaluation to find the source of your discomfort and recommend treatment to relieve pain and help keep it from coming back.
-
Tooth-colored fillings repair cavities, chips, and minor fractures while blending seamlessly with your natural smile. Made from composite resin, they're carefully matched to the shade of your tooth and bonded directly to it, which means we can often preserve more of your healthy tooth structure than with traditional silver fillings. The result is a strong, natural-looking restoration that no one will notice but you.

Dental extraction is the careful removal of a tooth that can't be saved because of severe decay, fracture, infection, or trauma, or that needs to come out to relieve crowding. Removing a problem tooth protects your overall oral health and relieves pain. Dr. Kavanagh and her team will make sure you're comfortable throughout the procedure and talk with you about options for replacing the tooth afterward
